cc motorsports: toyo tires 1600 championship round 1 weekend recap

Qualifying: Conner: P8 Cole: P9

Race 1: Despite falling back to 14th after going off in the early laps of the race, Conner fought through the pack and crossed the line P7. Cole also went off on lap two and unfortunately got stuck off track. With the help of the marshals he rejoined the race, but was already 2 laps behind and finished P18.

Race 2: While on his run to P7 in race one, Conner put in a quick lap good enough to start race 2 in P7. He ran another solid race, making up two positions to finish P5. Despite being 2 laps behind, Cole put together a lap quick enough in race one to start P9 for race 2. Cole also had a consistent drive and made up a few placed to cross the line in P7.

Race 3: Both Conner and Cole continued their steady progress into race 3. Conner started in P5, dropped to P6 early in the race and fought back to finish P4. Cole started the final race of the weekend in P7 and after 25 minutes of racing crossed the line in P5, a new personal best finish.

Aside from a few setbacks throughout the weekend, we are happy with how we started our season. The team worked well to get back into the swing of things and both Conner and Cole made great progress that they would carry into round 2 at the VARAC Vintage GP. As always, thank you to everyone that supports us and the volunteers that make this series happen.
