cc motorsports: toyo tires 1600 championship round 2 weekend recap
Qualifying: The weekend got off to a great start with Cole qualifying P4 and Conner in P2, personal best results for both.
Race 1: Bother Conner and Cole carried momentum from qualifying into race one. They both had great battles all race, resulting in Conner crossing line third, a personal best result and the teams first podium. Unfortunately, another driver lost control and collected Cole into turn 8 on the second last lap. With a flat rear tire for the final lap, the best Cole could manage was P15.
Race 2: Race two started with Conner in P3 and Cole in P5. Another clean and close race, but both drivers crossed the finish line having lost a position.
Race 3: A repeat of Race 2, Conner lined up P3 with Cole in P5 for the final race of the weekend. After 23 laps of close racing, Conner and Cole went three wide with another driver in turn 8 on the last lap, but despite the drama would cross the line with the #44 car in P5 and the #45 in P6.
It was another weekend of steady progress for the team. Felt really good to have car lining up on the front row and to bring home our first bit of hardware. A big thank you to everyone that gives their time to put these events on and to everyone supporting us this year. After over a month away, we’re very stoked to be racing again this weekend for the third round of the @toyotiresf1600 series.
